Happy Easter!!

The Friday before was my birthday, Anna and I went to the park with Granny Lissa to see the ducks because it was a great warm day. Here are some pictures.

Easter was a good day, the days before were beautiful great weather. But the true to form Easter morning came and it was chilly. Anna got an Easter basket and she is still playing with the eggs and little chick that makes the sound cheep cheep. Then we went over to Gram and Grandad's for lunch. Here are a few pictures from the day.

My first Ski Trip!!

Well we just returned from Park City, Utah and Anna's first ski trip (no she wasn't up on skis yet but next year!) Utah is a great place to ski, good snow, and very easy to get to! It was a hard time getting out of DFW because of the freak March snow storm on the very day we were leaving. Our flight was scheduled to leave Thursday night and that day we received about 6 inches of snow at our house, just crazy, I dont think I have ever seen that much snow here... It was pretty though. So needless to say our flight was cancelled and we were put on a flight in the morning which was then cancelled that night. So we were stuck with a nonrefundable condo and rental car in Park City and us in Fort Worth, luckily after long conversations with the airlines they managed to get us out on Saturday (but barely, we got the last six seats) on Delta instead of American and we came back on Wednesday. The trip was originally supposed to be Thursday night thru Monday night. But it all worked out and we had a good time despite the difficulties getting out. On top of the travel troubles Anna and I were sick with a head and chest cold but I guess it isn't a true ski trip unless you have a stopped up head and a cough. We are in recovery now Anna is on her first round of antibiotics of her life and I am living on Tynenol cold. We hope to be well before Easter! Nathan and I celebrated our 5th year being married while we were there, we enjoyed the evening with a horse drawn sleigh ride up the mountain to the Snowed Inn where they served a delicious meal with great musical entertainment! It was a great evening, full circle from when we got engaged 6 yrs before at the Swan Mountain Inn in Breckenridge CO. Nothing like a romantic evening in the mountains! Here are some pictures of our trip couldn't get them all on here but the best ones at least. The people who went on the trip were my cousins Hunter and Cole their mom Emily (my aunt), my mom (who watched Anna), and Nathan and Ariel. 7 in all, a lot of people:)!

This is Aspen in the snow in our back yard, she loved it and look how deep it got!

We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!

We went to the Zoo this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. Anna loved the monkeys, she would make the sound oooooo kinda like a monkey. We went into a bird aviary where you could feed the birds she liked watching them and the rest of the zoo she just quitely watched everything. But near the end she got tired and fell asleep. It was a good first time trip to the Zoo. Can't wait for the many more trips to come!!!

Are we really going to the Zoo?!

Look at this pretty blue bird!

We are on a baby safari!

What happens when you give a 9mth old finger paints!

We decided to play outside on the beautiful Saturday this weekend. And why not play with washable finger paints?! She really would have loved to eat all the paint but did like the squishy feeling on her fingers too. Aspen had to join in the fun and promptly got painted. It was quite funny and it got us outside here are some pictures... (And yes it did completly wash out of her clothes. Yeah washable!!)

I think green next...

Oh man!!

Umm, this red tastes good lets try it next!

January

Anna is now 9 months old time goes by so fast. She is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. She loves dogs especially Kiwi and Aspen but they don't always love her. She has 4 teeth and getting two more on the top and bites HARD. Anna has started dropping every object she can onto the floor and then says UH OH! First words besides Momma and Dada which she only uses when she wants something. She talks up a storm, too bad we can't understand her I am sure she is saying very interesting things! Anna has started taking a few steps by herself usually between Nathan and I, she goes back and forth, back and forth between us. But tries to vear off when she sees Kiwi and unfortunally doesn't make it that far! Not too long and she will be running around the house getting into everything!! I guess we will spend lots of time outside! About a month ago she decided she no longer liked baby food and absolutly refused to eat it, so we just started giving her what we ate, well that is what she wanted. Now she eats pretty much everything we do with in reason, no jalepenos for her yet!! But she LOVES fruit all kinds so far from pears, apples and bananas to blueberries, watermelon and blackberries! Although veggies are a bit more difficult she does like peas and lima beans, it's a start!! Well I will try to update this thing once a month or so, not too often lets be reasonable, when I get time! But it will be better than nothing, I hope.
Hey Aspen can you open this thing?

Making faces!
